New England Latin Placement Service (NELPS)

NELPS ANNOUNCES NEW PROCEDURES

The New England Latin Placement Service (NELPS) is pleased to announce a new initiative with the American Classical League (ACL). As it has done for the last three decades, NELPS will continue to solicit information about positions teaching Latin and Classics from secondary schools in New England, New Jersey, and New York. However, information about possible openings will now be posted on the ACL National Latin and Greek Teacher Placement Service web site. Job information will thus be more readily available to candidates.

The Service will no longer charge candidates for information about jobs and will not send out printed listings of openings since this system has become too slow and cumbersome to be effective. As in the past, there is no charge to schools listing open positions.

Latin and Classics teachers will also be able, for a small fee paid to ACL, to use the ACL dossier service.

The cost of soliticing information and other operating expenses of the New England Placement Service are paid for by the Classical Association of New England (CANE), ACL, the Classics Department at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the Classics Program at the University of New Hampshire.
